Canadians should not pay for private security for rich royals.

Trudeau has previously told veterans that they were asking for "too much."

But now, he has indicated he is open to using taxpayer funds to pay for security costs for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

This would cost taxpayers over $1.7 million per year.

If they are not performing royal duties, this should not be a Canadian expense.
